The Margaret Sparrow Prize
The Margaret Sparrow prize was created by the NZSHS to honour Dr Margaret Sparrow who has contributed so much to Sexual Health in New Zealand and to foster sexual health research. The prize is worth $250.00 and will be awarded for a proffered paper of high standard presented orally or by poster at the annual NZSHS Conference. The presentation should be on a sexual health topic.
The Oliver Davidson Prize
The Oliver Davidson Prize was named in honour of Oliver Davidson who made significant contribution to Sexual Health in New Zealand and is worth $250. He died in 2009 and the NZSHS wished to honour him. The prize will be awarded for a proffered paper of high standard presented orally or by poster at the annual NZSHS Conference. The presentation should ideally concern original and unpublished observations in the broad field of sociology/psychology.
The Tony Rennie Award
The New Zealand Herpes Foundation is delighted to announce the availability of the Tony Rennie Herpes Research Award. This comprises a $500 prize for the best research paper, oral or poster, presented at the annual NZSHS Conference to advance the understanding and management of people diagnosed with Genital Herpes. The award will be adjudicated by a panel of medical and allied health professionals attending the conference.
Please Note:
The above prizes will only be awarded if there is a presentation judged to be of a suitable standard. Past winners, although not ineligible, will be negatively ranked. The judging panel will be appointed by the NZSHS executive. In choosing the best paper the judges shall take into account the concept and content of the study and the manner of presentation.
