Chief Executive, Gas Industry Co
David Prentice has been Chief Executive of the Gas Industry Co since November 2025. David's experience in the energy industry includes roles as Chief Executive of NZ Windfarms, Chief Executive of Manawa Energy, Chief Executive and Director of Trustpower, and he is currently on the Board of Northpower. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive of Opus International Consultants and was also the Chair of the Interim Committee for Climate Change. David graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree and a PhD in Engineering. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand.
