Peter Black

Peter Black is a Urologic Oncologist at Vancouver General Hospital, a Research Scientist at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, and Professor in the Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia. 

Peter received his undergraduate degree from the University of British Colombia in Vancouver and his medical degree from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany (1997). He completed his urologic training at the University of Washington in Seattle (2005) and fellowship in urologic oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas (2008).

Peter has a clinical subspecialty interest in bladder and prostate cancer. He also maintains a grant-funded translational research program in urothelial carcinoma with a focus on mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy and novel targeted therapies for bladder cancer. He has published 190 peer-reviewed papers and contributed 13 book chapters.

Peter serves on the Board of Directors of the Société Internationale d'Urologie and is General Secretary of the International Bladder Cancer Network.


    


Tamsin Greenwell

Tamsin is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Honorary Associate Professor at University College London (Hospitals) in the United Kingdom. She runs a large multidisciplinary Functional, Reconstructive and Adolescent (FRA) Urology service, with much collaborative working with her Urogynaecological and Colorectal Colleagues and is involved in many ongoing clinical trials.

Her practice is entirely confined to FRA urology with her main interests being vesicovaginal and other urinary tract fistulae, female urethral diverticulum, male and female urethral stricture, complex male and female urinary incontinence, mesh complication surgery and lower urinary tract reconstruction.

She has over 120 peer-reviewed publications, 18 chapters and books, 250 international presentations, 190 invited lectures and 150 pairs of shoes.

Jo Milios

Dr Jo Milios is a Titled Clinical Researcher and Men’s Health Physiotherapist (MACP) who has a special interest in Prostate Cancer(PCa) and recently completed PhD studies at the University of Western Australia (UWA). In her thesis, ‘Therapeutic interventionsfor patients with prostate cancer: A focus on urinary incontinence , erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease ’, quality of lifeimpacts were investigated. Two randomised controlled trials were conducted, aimed at reducing the impact of urinaryincontinence (UI) and erectile dysfunction (ED). The first investigated pelvic floor muscle (PFM) training in men, and the secondtherapeutic ultrasound to treat Peyronie’s disease following treatment for PCa. Jo has presented her research findings at manyinternational conferences including the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT) 2015-19, Asia-Pacific Prostate CancerConferences (APCC) 2014-18, Australian (APA) & American Physiotherapy Association’s (APTA) 2019, 2020 (APTA) and locally atMen’s Sheds , PCFA support groups, Woodside Petroleum and ANZUS. Recent publications include ANZ Continence Journal(2018, 2019) , BMC Urology (2019), Rehabilitation Therapy (2020) and Sexual Medicine (2020).

Currently, Jo is investigating impacts from radiation therapy with colleagues at UWA where the role of pelvic floor muscletraining is a new research focus.

Melissa Hadley Barrett

Melissa, the founder of RSHC, is a Nurse Practitioner/Sexologist with extensive experience in primary care. She has postgraduate qualifications in Sexology and has a special interest in sexual function and relationships. She also has expertise inassisting men to manage penile rehabilitation after prostate cancer.
 
Melissa has worked extensively with men and their partners experiencing cancer related/pelvic surgery related sexual issues.She works collaboratively with medical practitioners, specialists and other health care professionals in this area to assist their clients.
