Please join us for a candid and compassionate discussion of medical abortion care after the first trimester, including advanced gestations. This talk coincides with the roll-out of the NZCSRH’s final abortion education module: Later Medical Abortion, and will focus on the practical aspects of abortion provision. 

Topics will include the consenting process; person-centred care, language use; medications; managing pain and discomfort; considerations for expulsion/delivery; complications; management of products of conception/peepi/taonga/fetal remains; and aftercare.

This hands-on workshop provides practical training in first-trimester uterine aspiration for the surgical management of abortion and miscarriage.  Designed for health care professionals involved in early pregnancy care, the session combines concise evidence-based review with skills-focused simulation. Participants will learn patient selection, counselling and consent, pain management options, infection prevention, step-by-step procedural technique (including manual and electric vacuum aspiration), and complication recognition and management.


Workshop E - Erectile Dysfunction / Premature Ejaculation Update - Clinician Toolkits in Primary Care

Revisit practical evidence-based consultation approaches to erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in primary care. This workshop will provide an overview of men's sexual health, pathophysiology of common male sexual dysfunctions, clinical and psychosocial management, indications for specialist referrals and hands-on demonstration of common treatment modalities.
