Aotearoa New Zealand Abortion Providers Group (APGANZ) is a multi-professional organisation formed to promote best practice, education, training and research in abortion care. The aim of the APGANZ shall be to improve the standard of abortion care in Aotearoa New Zealand.

In 2002, when the New Zealand Sexual and Reproductive Health Educational Charitable Trust formed to provide a training pathway for doctors with a special interest in sexual and reproductive health. The Trust was comprised a joint committee of representatives of Family Planning New Zealand, the New Zealand Sexual Health Society and The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Graduates of the training programme were awarded the Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health (DipSex) and obtained vocational registration in the specialist scope of family planning and reproductive health with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
In 2018, the New Zealand Sexual and Reproductive Health Educational Charitable Trust Board formed a specialist medical college, the New Zealand College of Sexual and Reproductive Health to represent the specialty of sexual and reproductive health in New Zealand.
