Biography

Jeannie Oliphant is a Sexual Health Physician at Auckland Regional Sexual Health Service. She is the lead author for the guidelines for gender affirming healthcare in Aotearoa, New Zealand published in 2018. She is currently the Vice President of the Professional Association for Transgender Health Aotearoa (PATHA).

Biography

Jaimie is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Waikato where she is the Principal Investigator of the Counting Ourselves transgender health project. She is the President of the Professional Association for Transgender Health Aotearoa and on the Executive Board of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

Biography

Jack Byrne is a Researcher for the Counting Ourselves survey, previously project manged the Human Rights Commission’s Transgender Inquiry and co-wrote the Asia Pacific Trans Health Blueprint, including community resources used across Asia. He is contributing to the Global Applicability chapter for current revisions to WPATH’s Standards of Care.

Biography

Mani B Mitchell. Founder, ED ITANZ - Counsellor (MNZCA) Clinical Supervisor, Educator. Identifies: queer, non-binary, intersex person. My original training was at Waikato University as an Educator. For almost two decades I worked in local government emergency management, both as a manager and also specialising in disaster related trauma (CIS) and evacuation, displaced persons. I retrained as a counsellor/psychotherapist mid career and in 1996, established ITANZ, and organisation focused on increasing awareness around intersex issues, human rights and the provision of education for service providers. ITANZ is a member of ilga (a ‘rainbow/lgbtiq+ international human rights organisation. I am also a member of the newly formed Rainbow Counsellors group here in Wellington. There is a substantial mismatch currently with the number of people seeking support and those with the training and competency to work with the gender diverse community.

Biography

Ahi Wi-Hongi (Ngapuhi, Ngati Maniapoto). National Coordinator, Health Promoter - Gender Minorities Aotearoa, Member of the Executive Committee - Professional Association for Transgender Health Aotearoa (PATHA). Ahi's role includes the development and implementation of national strategies and programs for transgender health and well being, both across healthcare settings and in relation to the social determinants of health, housing, education, employment, accessing goods and services, supportive social social environments, justice, legislative and policy input, and avenues to full participation in society. For 10 years Ahi belonged to The 128 Collective, developing Diversity and Inclusion policies for a variety of organisations and working on sexual violence prevention and survivor centered support. They co-designed national health programs for sex workers during their 6 years at New Zealand Prostitutes' Collective, including initiating individual contact to every private sex worker across NZ . Ahi was a community advisor for the 2019 Counting Ourselves transgender health research.
