Hamilton Gardens
Only a few minutes drive from the conference venue, Hamilton Gardens is a free public park that has been compared to a museum. The gardens explore different civilisations, and recreate historically important garden styles from the farthest reaches of the world. A unique experience and a must see!
Waikato Museum and ArtsPost
For an inspirational experience, visit Waikato Museum Te Whare Taonga o Waikato on the banks of the Waikato River in the heart of Hamilton’s central precinct. The Museum’s exhibitions and activities tell the stories of this region and nationally including visual arts, social history, tangata whenua and science. In close proximity is the ArtsPost gallery and shop dedicated to developing and promoting artists in the Waikato region.

Vilagrad Winery
Stop in and sample the hand crafted award winning wines at the Vilagrad Winery. This family owned winery was established in 1922 and is now being run by the fifth generation! A Waikato icon, the winery is recognized nationally and internationally and is open from Monday to Friday 9-3pm, Saturdays 10-2pm and Sundays 10-4pm or enjoy the special Sunday lunch (Mediterranean buffet) from 12-4pm. Deluxe accommodation is also available.

Hamilton Lake Domain
Have a relaxing walk and take in the sights at the Hamilton Lake Domain (Lake Rotoroa). The lake is one of Hamilton’s premiere parks and is situated within walking distance of the Hamilton CBD. It has a walkway covering 3.8kms including lakeside vegetation, grassed parklands, a broadwalk section, playground and café. Birdlife flourish in the Hamilton Lake area with ducks, pukeko, geese and other birdlife.
Te Puia
Te Puia is the centre for New Zealand’s Maori culture and Geothermal wonders. It spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley on the edge of Rotorua. It is home to the world famous Pohutu geyser, mud pools, hot springs and silica formations. Te Puia includes the national schools of wood carving, weaving, stone and bone carving, taonga shared with visitors for over 170 years and a tradition proudly continued today.
